I went to a French Bulldog show out in the middle of know where.
Saw this guy ruling his crate like a prisoner doing 25 to life.

Gyroscope shot for Blunt Magazine.
I have known the Gryo guys for a long time now so it was rad to shoot them for the magazine. So there was no holding back with ideas or if either of us wasnt feeling what the other was doing. Good times lads, lets do it soon.

Davey Havok - AFI

Taken at Soundwave 2010 in Melbourne. It was a pleasure to sit side stage and shoot AFI multiple times during the festival. I remember listening to AFI on an old Nitro Records sampler on repeat in my room, then finally watching some of their film clips, reading up on them in magazines and then finally seeing them live on the Sing The Sorrow tour for the first time. Im not claiming to be their biggest fan or anything like that but they have played a huge part in my music life.
AFI are such an amazing live band, if you havent seen them you need to.
Four Years Strong came out to tour Australia for Soundwave this year.
I hadn’t met these guys before on their last tour but the time we hung out was pretty funny. We talked jugalos and ate Mexican so thats a win in my book.
I shot some exclusive promo shots for Blunt Magazine for the new issue which came out today. We kept it pretty simple but FYS have a new record out titled Enemy Of The World so we thought we would use some weapons to gay out with.
So……..
After the shoot I was driving the Macbeth van back to Blunt editor Adrian Kelly back to his car to drop off the weapons. We pull up and then BAM he opens to door onto a passing car. The car hits the door on the end and nearly snaps it off, good one Kelly and thank god for insurance.
As i was on a tight schedule that day i needed to do the shoot and then shoot AFI. I had to get the van towed so I roll up to the Four Seasons 5 star hotel in Kellys fine 90’s Magna that clicks and makes strange noises. The concierge didnt open my door until i explained why I was at the hotel, i thought that was pretty funny.

House vs Hurricane dont hate me this time for being in front of my camera this time…Thank Adrian Kelly for this one…
In issue #87 of Blunt Magazine HvH have a review on their new album and their time recording in the US. I had to nock out the shoot for the interview but with the creative mind of Adrian behind it. Its been a while since there has been a human pyramid shot grace the magazines pages.
The grass was itchy, we all where tired, my pants where falling off, we had partial sun-stroke, and we had Adrian barking orders at us.
Regardless we ended up with a photo that ran in the magazine. It cracks me up every time when I look at this pic cause there is so many things you find the longer you look at it.
HvH are about to hit the road with their new album “Perspectives”, for dates hit them up HERE.

Frank “The X Hangman” Carter….
He sings for Gallows, he has a blog, he tattoos, he has invested into a tattoo studio and is a great guy.
He pisses people off but makes them love him at the same time.
Every day on Soundwave Festival I made sure I saw Gallows play as it was always going to be a good set. I am bummed I didnt get to the Perth leg after reading Franks blog about their set…

The end.
Currently Im on the Soundwave Tour around Australia for Macbeth Footwear and shooting a tonne of photos and videos.
This year AFI are on the tour amongst a load of other great artists. So I’m killing 2 birds with one stone on this tour as Im shooting Davey and Hunter a bunch for Macbeth and also for Blunt Magazine. Its really neat to see AFI live as they have a solid live show which is always themed really well.
Davey is known for his crowd walking but I guess I wouldnt trust this sea of people as they all looked like they would tare him apart if he got out in the thick of it. So many people look up, idolise, imitate or even take life direction from him. It must be so hard and strange to be in that situation and still keep the cool.
So far they have blown me away every night of the tour so far and Im seeing them tomorrow in the day for a “special” sessions with me and my camera, then over to the side show with the Gallows.

I have a load more photos that I will post up over the next few days, Im just trying to sift through the better ones to put up..
I shot Confession’s new press photos the other night. I tried to keep things simple and nothing too complex. So I found a nice spot behind the Apra building in Glebe to shoot them, out of the way and close to the city.
After a day push back we had a time and date. I headed over early to sort my gear and get the shoot over and done super quick. Michael Crafter has been in bands long enough to know the drill and this helped power through the shoot, but the fact that his spot is always in the centre of the setup was hard to get around haha. We did shoot one where he was on the end but it didnt work, I guess he can stick to being the front man cause he looked like a retard on the end.
After a couple of shirt changes and a few gnarly nut flicks we got it done and they bounced to continue on there tour with Parkway Drive.
