Its been a while since I’ve shot someone skating but it was rad to have a play around in LA with co worker Matt

Fact: BIggie was shot just meters away from this spot.

Yesterday we headed out skating to some new spots in Newcastle with the usual suspects. It was hot as all hell and sunny so we sweated it out in this ghetto diy skatepark for a few hours. It was an old TAFE building that they flattened and left the slabs. The locals lugged some bricks and concrete into the site and built some blocks, pads and random quarters.

This is Pat, he has been killing it the past few months. Also has a fair bit of interest from some of the board companies, so things could get wild soon for him. I remember when Pat started skating being the younger brother of our friend T-Bone. I shot a few photos of him back in the day on black and white film that i hand printed of him skating a 12 stair when he was like 12 or something. Pitty he didnt have the leg power to push enough to make the distance, so he plugged on the bottom step…..

While where we watching Simon film a line Pat and i decided to nut out a basic back smith photo. 3 key elements in this photo: no shirt, Anti Hero shades and a Bloods bandana off the hip made this photo. Also we shot a pole jam back side 180 over this gap but it was super hard to get the right angle so who knows if it will make the cut.

I think i got a bit of heat stroke shooting, I know im soft..

Today I was in Newcastle to shoot some of my friends skating some new and old spots.

Chippy stepped things up with a switch ollie over the wall at the Ocean Baths. My camera bag and flash gun did get smashed by a wave which i thought was pretty funny. Nothing is wrong with the babies though.

It was a pretty good spot as the sun was setting but we ran out of light real quick just in time to shoot this. He got a pretty good bail in as well where he definitely got away with his life.

I have sand in my boxers now from sitting on the ground :(
